Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh cleaners, and anything that may scratch, dull, or alter the surface.

Glass

Glass is strong, but it still deserves care. Handle the piece gently and avoid sudden impacts or temperature changes.

The subtle variations within handmade glass are part of its character. They may include differences in colour, surface, texture or form.

Ceramic

Ceramic carries the memory of its making. Small variations in surface, colour and form can occur through shaping, drying, firing and finishing. They are part of what makes each piece individual. Clean gently and avoid abrasive materials that may affect the surface or finish.

Metal

Metal changes with its surroundings. Depending on the material and finish, its surface may develop subtle shifts over time. This can be part of its character rather than something to correct. Clean gently and avoid abrasive products unless specifically recommended for your piece.

Handmade Variation

No two handmade pieces are perfectly identical. A slight variation in colour, texture, proportion or surface is a record of the process that made it.

Light & Electrical Care

Your piece is also a working light.

Use the recommended light source and electrical configuration specified for your particular piece.

Over Time

We do not expect a piece to remain frozen in the moment it leaves the studio.

Light changes. Materials settle. Surfaces gather the traces of time. The object becomes part of its surroundings.

Glass will catch the changing light. Metal may develop character with time. Ceramic carries the marks of its making.

These are not imperfections to erase. They are part of the life of the object.

Handle your piece with care, avoid unnecessary abrasion, and allow the material to remain itself.

A handmade object does not need to be kept untouched. It needs to be understood.
